Get your free cash offer
We don't buy cars: our buyer partner makes the offer. Free, no obligation, about 2 minutes.
Who makes the offer?
Cash For Junk Cars 500 doesn't buy cars. We pass your request to our buyer partner, which makes the offer. It works with junkyards, salvage yards, wrecking yards, auto auctions and other car buyers in your area, so one of them may handle the pickup and payment. We may earn a referral fee from the partner for your request; you pay nothing. Sending a request doesn't guarantee a sale.
Before you accept, confirm the amount you'll be paid, how you'll be paid and what proof of ownership you need. The partner's privacy policy and terms, linked above the button, apply to what it does with your request.

Junk Car Removal
Most people expect to pay a tow company to get rid of a dead car. We send your request to our buyer partner, who includes a free tow with every offer and pays you when the truck shows up.
Learn moreCash for Wrecked Cars
After a crash, the repair estimate often costs more than the car is worth. Our buyer partner buys cars in any condition, so you can send a request for the car the way it sits, with the airbags out, the bumper off or the frame bent.
Learn moreSell Non-Running Car
A car that won't start still has value. Our buyer partner buys cars in any condition, and the tow truck doesn't need the car to move.
Learn moreFlood-Damaged Cars
Once water reaches the engine, the wiring or the seats, repairs rarely make sense. Our buyer partner buys flood-damaged cars, priced mostly on the metal and the parts that stayed dry.
Learn moreFire-Damaged Cars
A burned car is priced on the metal that's left. If the fire was recent, make sure the insurer or fire investigator has released the car, then mention the fire when the buyer contacts you.
Learn moreCars With Missing Parts
Wheels, doors, bumpers or the catalytic converter gone? Our buyer partner buys cars with missing parts as long as the engine and transmission are still in the car.
Learn moreCash for Old Cars
An old car parked in the driveway for years still costs you registration and insurance, and maybe some letters from the HOA. Selling it stops the bills.
Learn moreCars Without a Title
Some states don't title older cars at all, and others let you get a duplicate with a one-page form. Our guide covers what each state accepts as proof you own the car.
Learn moreScrap My Car for Cash
The traditional way to scrap a car is to tow it to a yard yourself and take whatever the scale says. Here you send one short form, and our buyer partner makes an offer and sends a free tow to wherever the car is.

Pricing
How much is a junk car worth?
A junk car is worth its scrap weight plus any parts that can be resold. At about $186 per ton for complete cars, a typical sedan is worth roughly $310 in metal alone. Cars that still run, or that are less than ten years old, are usually worth more because their parts are in demand.
Missing parts lower the price. The catalytic converter matters most because of the precious metals inside it. Having the title in your name keeps the price at the top of the range.

FAQ
Junk car questions, answered
Who buys junk cars near me?
Junkyards, scrap metal recyclers, salvage auctions, local tow companies and online car buyers. A local yard pays by weight and usually wants you to bring the car. Cash For Junk Cars 500 sends your request to our buyer partner, who makes the offer and includes towing with it.
How much money can I get for my junk car?
Most junk cars bring a few hundred dollars. The price depends on the car's weight, the current scrap price per ton, its age and which parts still work. Running cars and newer cars can bring more than scrap value, because their parts can be resold. The junk car value calculator gives you a range for your exact car in about two minutes.
Can I sell a junk car without a title?
Often, yes, depending on your state and the car's age: some states don't title older cars at all, and elsewhere a duplicate from the DMV usually takes a short form and a small fee. Our title guide covers each state's rules.
Do I have to pay for the tow truck?
No. Towing is included with every offer from our buyer partner. Before you accept, ask the buyer to confirm nothing else comes out of the price, and be wary of buyers who quote a high price and then subtract a towing fee when they arrive.
Will the offer go down when the driver arrives?
It shouldn't if you described the car accurately, but the offer comes from our buyer partner, so ask it to confirm that before you accept. Be exact about the basics: whether it starts, whether the major parts are there and whether the title is in your name. If something is different and the price changes, you're free to say no.
How fast can my car be picked up?
Our buyer partner gives you the pickup time when they schedule the tow. Same-day pickup is possible in some cases. Otherwise the timing depends on where the car is and the tow schedule.
